An awareness program focusing on women’s safety, cyber frauds, drug abuse prevention, and traffic regulations was conducted on August 5 at Pratibha Junior College, Sullurupeta. Organized by the local police department, the event saw the participation of Sullurupeta Circle Inspector Murali Krishna, Sriharikota Sub-Inspectors, PSIs, and other police personnel, who addressed a gathering of students and faculty members. The officers emphasized the importance of prioritizing women’s safety and encouraged students to report any suspicious individuals or uncomfortable situations to the police without hesitation. Highlighting the increasing incidents of cybercrimes, especially on social media platforms, the team warned students about online scams, identity theft, and the misuse of personal information, urging them to stay alert and safeguard their digital presence. The dangers of drug addiction were thoroughly discussed, with police officials explaining its harmful impact on health, academics, and personal life. Students were advised to say no to drugs and promote a clean and healthy lifestyle among their peers. The session also covered essential traffic safety rules, where officers stressed the need for wearing helmets and seat belts, avoiding over-speeding, and following road safety norms to prevent accidents.
