Awareness Rally on WhatsApp Governance
Sullurupeta, August 5:
In line with the Andhra Pradesh government's initiative to promote WhatsApp Governance, a massive awareness rally was conducted today at Sullurupeta. As per state-wide instructions, such programs are to be held on the 5th of every month to educate citizens about the digital services available through WhatsApp.
The rally, organized by the Sullurupeta Municipality, commenced at 10:30 AM from the Municipal Office and proceeded up to the RTC Bus Stand. Officials, staff, and public representatives actively participated, distributing informative leaflets to citizens about the various services accessible via WhatsApp Governance.
Addressing the event, Municipal Commissioner K. Chinnaiah said, “With just a message from their smartphones, citizens can access over 530 government services through the WhatsApp number 95525 00009. This digital approach enhances ease and efficiency in service delivery to the public.”
The WhatsApp Governance platform enables users to obtain services like certificates, bill payments, property tax info, trade licenses, and grievance redressal — all without visiting a government office. It marks a major shift toward tech-driven, citizen-centric governance.
Several dignitaries took part in the rally, including Sullurupeta MRO/Tahsildar Gopinath Reddy, Sub-Inspector Brahmanayudu, MPDO, municipal and police staff, ward secretaries, and MEPMA representatives. Their collective participation ensured the event's grand success and impactful public outreach.
This initiative is expected to revolutionize the way citizens interact with the government, making services more transparent, efficient, and accessible right from the palm of their hand.
