Amazon to Invest ₹60,000 Crore in Telangana
Amazon has announced plans to invest ₹60,000 crore in Telangana as part of its ambitious expansion strategy. The agreement was finalized during a meeting between Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Michael Punke, Vice President of Global Public Policy at Amazon Web Services, held at the World Economic Forum in Davos
The investment will focus on establishing and expanding Amazon's data center operations in Telangana, further bolstering the state's reputation as a leader in technology and data-driven infrastructure. The Telangana government has committed to allocating land and providing necessary support for the project, which is anticipated to contribute significantly to the state's economic and technological growth.
In a parallel development, Telangana IT Minister Sridhar Babu held discussions with Infosys CFO Sangraj in Davos. Infosys has agreed to invest ₹750 crore in the first phase of expanding its IT campus in Pocharam, Telangana. This project is expected to generate approximately 17,000 new jobs, strengthening Telangana's status as a thriving IT hub.
