Peddireddy Family Accused of Forest Land Encroachment

Chittoor, Jan 30 – Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Forest Minister Pawan Kalyan has ordered a comprehensive investigation into allegations that former minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy's family has encroached upon forest land in the Mangalampeta forest area of Chittoor district.

Reports suggest that a luxury estate with a guest house has been illegally developed within the forest, along with a road constructed for private access.

Taking serious note of the allegations, Pawan Kalyan has directed the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) to submit a preliminary report at the earliest. He has also instructed officials to take legal action against those involved in the illegal occupation of forest land.

The investigation will examine the extent of encroachment, the environmental impact, and possible manipulation of forest land records in the Punganur constituency. Officials have been tasked with verifying whether land records were altered and identifying those responsible for any irregularities. The report is expected to determine the individuals who benefited from the encroachment and whether any official documents were tampered with.

This move comes as part of the new government’s crackdown on illegal land acquisitions and protection of forest reserves in Andhra Pradesh.
