Tension prevailed near Gandhi Bhavan as BJP leaders attempted to storm the Congress headquarters. During the confrontation, there were reports of verbal clashes between the police and BJP leaders. In some instances, the police resorted to lathi charges to disperse the crowd.
Additionally, it was reported that Congress party flexes in the area were torn down, further intensifying the conflict. The Gandhi Bhavan area also witnessed heavy traffic jams due to the disturbances.
The incident followed controversial remarks made by BJP leader Ramesh Bidhuri, who compared Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi to "Delhi roads." This sparked outrage among Congress leaders, leading them to attack the BJP office in Nampally. Congress workers targeted the office with sticks, stones, and even eggs, causing injuries to several individuals. In retaliation, BJP leaders attempted to storm Gandhi Bhavan in protest, and the police arrested some of them.
