Singer Chinmayi Raises Alarm Over Women's Safety in Latest Statement

Renowned singer Chinmayi Sripaada has once again sparked discussion with a strong statement on women's safety, asserting that women are not safe anywhere in the world.

Taking to Instagram, Chinmayi expressed her frustration over the ongoing issue of harassment, stating that it occurs both at home and in public places.

She shared a video showing a disturbing incident on a bus, where a man was behaving inappropriately toward a woman. Reacting to the footage, Chinmayi remarked, “This is how our country’s transport system is; such individuals exist everywhere.” She further suggested that parents should buy their daughters a scooter as a safer alternative to public transport.

Highlighting the prevalence of harassment, she pointed out that similar incidents occur even in places of worship. “The girl in the video is wearing a chunni and a dupatta, yet he is behaving this way,” she wrote. She also criticized those who trivialize such issues, stating, “If all men were kept inside their homes, women would feel safe outside. But even if they manage to step out safely, there are still those who harass them at home.”

Chinmayi’s post has quickly gone viral, sparking widespread debate on social media. Many netizens have expressed support for her views, while others continue to debate potential solutions to the issue of women’s safety in India.
