KL Rahul etched his name in the history books on Tuesday by becoming the fastest player to score 5,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Delhi Capitals batter accomplished the feat in just 130 innings during the match against Lucknow Super Giants, setting a new benchmark in the league’s illustrious run charts.

Rahul reached the landmark with a composed, unbeaten half-century (57*) that guided Delhi to a dominant 8-wicket victory. With this knock, he surpassed the previous fastest records held by David Warner (135 innings), Virat Kohli (157), AB de Villiers (161), and Shikhar Dhawan (168).

Currently, Rahul boasts an impressive IPL record — 5,000 runs at an average of 46.35 and a strike rate of 135.70. His tally includes 4 centuries and 40 fifties, while he's fallen for a duck on just four occasions.

In the same match, Delhi Capitals chased down a target of 160 in just 17.5 overs, showcasing their dominance with both bat and ball. Rahul’s performance not only sealed the win but also solidified his reputation as one of the most consistent performers in IPL history.
