India Clinches T20I Series with 15-Run Victory Over England in Pune

Ravi Bishnoi (3/28) and debutant Harshit Rana (3/33) starred with the ball as India secured a 15-run victory over England in the fourth T20I at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Friday.

The win gave India an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series, making the final T20I in Mumbai a mere formality.

After losing the third T20I in Rajkot, India bounced back impressively to claim the series, having won the first two matches in Kolkata and Chennai.

India's Recovery After Early Collapse

Batting first, Hardik Pandya (53) and Shivam Dube (53) played crucial innings to help India recover from a shaky start and post 181/9 in 20 overs. India had slumped to 12/3, with Saqib Mahmood (3/35) dealing early blows, including a historic triple-wicket maiden—the first-ever in men's T20 internationals.

Pandya and Dube put together an 87-run stand, steadying the innings and giving India a defendable total.

England’s Fiery Start & India’s Fightback

Chasing 182, Phil Salt and Ben Duckett gave England an explosive start, taking them to 62/0 in the Power-play. However, Ravi Bishnoi triggered a collapse by removing Duckett (39 off 19) and Jos Buttler (2), while Axar Patel dismissed Salt (23 off 21).

At 67/3, England still had hope, but Livingstone (9) and Brook (51) failed to capitalize. Varun Chakravarthy (2/28) and Harshit Rana’s fiery pace ensured wickets kept falling at regular intervals.

With England struggling at 140/7, Rana dismissed Jamie Overton (6) and Jacob Bethell (6) before Arshdeep Singh sealed the win by removing Saqib Mahmood in the final over.

Key Performances:

  • India: Hardik Pandya (53), Shivam Dube (53), Ravi Bishnoi (3/28), Harshit Rana (3/33)
  • England: Harry Brook (51), Ben Duckett (39), Saqib Mahmood (3/35), Jamie Overton (2/32)

Series Decided, Final Match in Mumbai

With the series clinched 3-1, the final match at Wankhede Stadium on Sunday is now inconsequential, but India will look to finish on a high.
