Tomatoes and Eggs Thrown at MLA Koushik Reddy in Kamalapur Village, Video Goes Viral

Huzurabad MLA Padi Koushik Reddy faced public ire in Kamalapur village, Hanamkonda district, as frustrated locals threw tomatoes and eggs at him during a government-organized Gram Sabha. The meeting was held to announce eligibility lists for four welfare schemes, including the Indiramma housing scheme.

The incident unfolded when Kamalapur Market Committee Chairperson Tautam Jhansi Rani accused the previous government of failing to deliver on promises of double-bedroom houses. Her criticism led to an argument when MLA Koushik Reddy interrupted, blaming the Congress government instead. This interruption angered villagers, who accused him of sidetracking the meeting meant for beneficiary announcements.

Tensions boiled over as some villagers expressed their frustration by pelting tomatoes and eggs at the MLA. Security personnel quickly shielded Koushik Reddy, but the situation worsened when his supporters allegedly retaliated by attacking villagers with chairs. The incident escalated into a verbal clash involving Congress workers.

Police officers intervened promptly to de-escalate the situation. Senior officials eventually managed to pacify the MLA and escorted him out of the venue. The Gram Sabha resumed without further disruptions.

A video of the chaotic scenes has gone viral on social media, garnering widespread attention and sparking debates about public dissatisfaction and political accountability. The incident highlights the simmering frustrations of locals over unfulfilled promises and the volatile nature of grassroots political engagements.
