Nara Lokesh Appears in Visakhapatnam Court, Reiterates Confidence in Justice

Visakhapatnam, Jan 27: Andhra Pradesh’s Education and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, appeared in the Visakhapatnam Court today concerning a defamation case he filed against Sakshi Media in 2019. The lawsuit stems from allegations made by Sakshi Media, claiming that ₹25 lakhs were spent by the TDP government on Lokesh’s visit to the Visakhapatnam airport lounge—a claim Lokesh labeled as baseless and defamatory.

Speaking to the media, Lokesh recounted the events, stating, “I have visited the Visakhapatnam airport multiple times, but the claim that ₹25 lakhs were spent on me is utterly false. This propaganda lacks any evidence.” He added that notices were sent to Sakshi Media demanding a retraction and clarification at the time.

Lokesh asserted his commitment to transparency, highlighting that during his current visit as a minister, he stayed overnight in a bus parked at the TDP office and did not utilize government funds. “I bore all expenses, including water bottles and transportation, from my personal funds. These values of financial discipline were instilled in me by my mother, Nandamuri Bhuvaneshwari,” Lokesh emphasized.

The minister confirmed this was his fourth court appearance for the case, expressing confidence in a favorable outcome. “Truth is on my side, and I firmly believe justice will prevail,” he said.

Addressing governance, Lokesh discussed clearing unpaid dues left by the previous administration and underscored his focus on addressing public grievances through initiatives like Praja Darbar. Reaffirming his loyalty to CM Chandrababu Naidu, he concluded, “I am committed to working tirelessly to uphold the reputation of our party and serve the people.”
