Andhra Pradesh, NVIDIA Launch AI University
The Andhra Pradesh government has signed a landmark agreement with tech giant NVIDIA to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) University in the State. This strategic partnership aims to create a robust AI ecosystem by focusing on skilling, research, infrastructure, and startup incubation.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was formalized on Friday at Undavalli, where Minister for Human Resource Development Nara Lokesh met with representatives from NVIDIA, as well as officials from the State’s Education Department and Skill Development Corporation.
A key component of the agreement is the upskilling of 10,000 engineering students across Andhra Pradesh over the next two years. Through this initiative, NVIDIA will offer curriculum support, technical training materials, and expert guidance to enhance AI education in the State’s engineering colleges. This large-scale skilling program aims to prepare students for future opportunities in AI and related emerging technologies.
The AI University is envisioned as a hub for cutting-edge research and development, fostering innovation, and providing the necessary infrastructure for startups and educational institutions to thrive in the AI domain. The partnership is also expected to attract investments and collaboration from national and international players in the AI industry.
Minister Nara Lokesh emphasized the importance of equipping students with future-ready skills and noted that the initiative would play a critical role in making Andhra Pradesh a leading destination for AI talent and innovation. He also highlighted the government’s broader vision of integrating advanced technologies into education and skill development to boost employment and economic growth.
This collaboration with NVIDIA marks a major step in Andhra Pradesh’s journey toward becoming an AI-driven knowledge economy, with the new university at the core of this transformative effort.
