Significant improvement from last year’s 6.19%; growth in current prices touches 12.02%
CM Chandrababu hails it as a people’s victory and proof of effective governance
Andhra Pradesh has recorded the second-highest economic growth rate among major Indian states in the financial year 2024–25, as per the latest report released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI). At 8.21% growth in constant prices, the state trails only Tamil Nadu, which registered a growth rate of 9.69%.
This marks a significant leap from AP’s previous growth figure of 6.19% in 2023–24, highlighting a 2.02% improvement year-on-year. The growth rate in current prices stands even higher at 12.02%, reflecting the combined impact of inflation and real economic activity.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the report with pride, posting on his official ‘X’ account: “Andhra Pradesh is rising.” He attributed this success to the “constructive efforts” of the coalition government and the resilience of the people in overcoming past economic hurdles. Calling it a “collective victory,” he extended heartfelt congratulations to the citizens of Andhra Pradesh.
Chandrababu emphasized that the state's development-focused governance and inclusive welfare initiatives have laid a strong foundation for growth. He expressed optimism that AP will continue this upward trajectory, aiming to become a top destination for investments and a model for sustainable development.
Experts believe that this economic resurgence is a clear indicator that the state's economy is on the right track. The state government's policies are not only boosting GDP but also improving employment prospects and living standards.
As Andhra Pradesh gains momentum, the growth is expected to reinforce investor confidence and stimulate further industrial expansion, ensuring that the benefits of progress reach every corner of the state.
