Telangana and Andhra Pradesh leaders, along with JSP, condemn the attack
A retired banker from Visakhapatnam, J. Chandramouli, was among the 16 tourists killed in the recent terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam. Chandramouli, a resident of Pandurangapuram, was on a family trip when the assailants targeted them in the Baisaran Valley area. Reports indicate that despite attempting to flee, Chandramouli was chased and shot dead by the terrorists, who showed no mercy when he pleaded for his life. His body was identified three hours after the attack.
Also among the victims was Madhusudan Somisetty, originally from Kavali in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, who was on vacation with his family. Somisetty was killed on the spot. Additionally, an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer, stationed in Hyderabad, lost his life in the attack. The officer, identified as Manish Ranjan from Bihar, was killed in front of his wife and children while on a Leave Travel Concession (LTC) visit.
The tragic attack, which targeted innocent tourists in Pahalgam’s scenic Baisaran Valley, has drawn strong condemnation from political leaders. Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan have all expressed their shock and grief over the incident.
In solidarity with the victims, the Jana Sena Party, led by Pawan Kalyan, has declared a three-day mourning period. The party will lower its flag to half-mast, hold candlelight vigils, and organize human chains across the state on Friday to condemn the attack.
Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma also condemned the attack, calling it an act of cowardice.
