Missing Girl Found Within Hours: Swift Action by Vizianagaram Police
Vizianagaram District, January 27: The swift response and coordinated efforts of the Vizianagaram police led to the safe recovery of an 11-year-old girl, Velama Charishma, who went missing on Republic Day. District SP Vakul Jindal, IPS, provided details of the successful operation.
Charishma, a 5th-grade student at Lakkavarapu Kota A.P. Model School, attended the Republic Day celebrations at her school. After the event, she visited a friend’s home in Jammadevipeta and later boarded an RTC bus to Mangalapalem bus stop. She informed her father over the phone about her return but failed to reach home, prompting her worried parents to file a missing person complaint at Kottavalasa Police Station.
Police Launch Swift Search Operation
Acting promptly, Kottavalasa CI Shanmukha Rao registered the case and shared Charishma's photo with Visakhapatnam City Police. A special team, led by SI Sudarshan Rao, was formed to track the missing girl. The team questioned her friends, local shopkeepers, and street vendors near the bus stop, piecing together clues about her whereabouts.
Technology and Teamwork in Action
By analyzing CCTV footage, the police traced Charishma's movements toward Pendurthi. The special team intensified their search in Pendurthi and nearby areas. Finally, they located the girl at the Pendurthi bus stop and safely brought her back to Kottavalasa.
A Happy Ending
Charishma was reunited with her family, bringing relief and joy to her worried parents. SP Vakul Jindal commended the police team for their timely and effective efforts in resolving the case.
