Major Encounter in Chhattisgarh

In a major blow to Maoist insurgency, a fierce encounter broke out between security forces and Maoists in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. The operation, which took place in the Ganglur police station limits, resulted in the killing of eight Maoists.

According to police officials, the gunfight erupted when security personnel were conducting a search operation in the dense forest area. The encounter led to heavy exchange of fire, shaking the entire region. Preliminary reports suggest that the death toll may rise, as search teams are continuing their operation in the area.

Security forces have been intensifying anti-Maoist operations in Chhattisgarh in recent months, dealing significant blows to the insurgents. This latest operation adds to a series of successful encounters that have weakened Maoist strongholds in the region.

Authorities have launched further combing operations to ensure no remaining Maoist elements escape from the site. More details on the identities of the slain Maoists are expected to be revealed soon.
