Roja Targets Pawan Kalyan Over Central Budget Allocations for Andhra Pradesh

Amaravati, Feb 1: Former Andhra Pradesh minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Roja has taken a dig at Deputy Chief Minister and Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan over his silence on the Union Budget 2025 allocations for the state.

Taking to social media, Roja recalled Pawan Kalyan’s past statements, where he had criticized YSRCP MPs for not confronting the BJP-led central government regarding Andhra Pradesh’s demands. "Let’s remember what Pawan Kalyan once said," Roja wrote in her post.

She referred to Pawan Kalyan’s earlier remarks: "Eat two spicy curries, apply two more on your body, gain courage, and question the Centre." Roja pointed out that at the time, the BJP had full majority in Parliament, yet YSRCP MPs continued to fight for special status, Polavaram, Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, and bifurcation promises for Andhra Pradesh.

However, Roja questioned why Pawan Kalyan remains silent now, even when the central government is running with the support of TDP and Jana Sena MPs. "Why isn't Pawan repeating his own words today? Why isn’t he questioning the Centre for Andhra Pradesh’s rights?" she asked, accusing him of double standards.

Her comments have sparked a political debate, with YSRCP leaders intensifying their criticism of the coalition government’s alleged failure to secure adequate funds for Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget.
