Anil Ambani’s Visit Sparks Hopes for New Industry in Krishnapatnam

Anil Ambani, Chairman of the Reliance Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has reignited optimism for industrial development near Krishnapatnam Port with his recent visit. The visit focused on the proposed Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP), initially planned in 2008 but stalled due to various challenges.

The project, allocated 2,565 acres of land by the government, faced multiple setbacks, leading to no significant progress until 2019. The YSRCP government at the time announced plans to reclaim the land due to inactivity, with the Muthukur Tehsildar issuing notices. However, Reliance Power approached the courts, leading to renewed negotiations and the eventual reallocation of the land.

Now, with Anil Ambani personally inspecting the site, plans for the development of a major industrial unit have gained momentum. Reliable sources indicate that Reliance Power is considering establishing a state-of-the-art solar panel manufacturing unit on the site. Construction is expected to commence soon, with completion targeted by 2026.

The establishment of this facility is anticipated to create thousands of job opportunities, boosting the local economy and revitalizing the industrial landscape of the region. If realized, the project would represent a significant milestone in Krishnapatnam's development, aligning with the government’s goals to enhance renewable energy infrastructure and create employment.

The renewed activity by Reliance Power has sparked excitement among local residents and stakeholders, marking a potential turning point for industrial progress in Krishnapatnam.
